Completion of the First Phase of Fom’s New Facility: Production Space in Cattolica Doubles from 20,000 to 40,000 Square Meters

The first phase of Fom’s new facility has been completed. The new building will be physically connected to the company’s historic headquarters in Cattolica, effectively doubling the total production space from the current 20,000 square meters to approximately 40,000 square meters. This significant expansion marks another step forward in the company’s ongoing growth and transformation.

The relocation of the first production departments began several months ago and will be completed by the early months of 2026. This initiative represents not only a major infrastructural expansion but also a deep evolution of the operational structure, driven by a clear strategic vision and a renewed organizational model.

In an international context marked by instability, conflicts, and trade wars—factors that inevitably impact investor confidence and the global economic climate—Fom Industrie reaffirms its solidity and determination to continue on its path of growth. With a global commercial presence, over 800 direct employees, and dozens of companies involved in its supply chain, Fom Industrie stands out as one of the region’s flagship enterprises and a vital reference point for the local economy. It also represents a concrete opportunity for many young talents to begin a high-quality professional journey.

Founded in 1972 by the vision of Gianfranco Pettinari, Franco Sparaventi, Nello Andreani, and Lorenzo Paci, Fom Industrie is today a global leader in the market for machinery and systems for cutting and processing aluminum profiles.

A Profound Transformation: Managerial Vision and Lean Approach

A key element of this evolutionary phase has been the focus on process optimization brought by the management team, which has introduced the principles and industrial models of Lean Production into the company. This strategic direction is a decisive catalyst for the continuous improvement of processes and the creation of a company culture centered on the concepts of value and customer satisfaction.

The Lean approach, by placing the customer and their needs at the center, enables the reduction of waste, significant improvement in quality and response times, and therefore enhances the company’s competitiveness in the global market.

This is a profound yet sustainable transformation, thanks to the Kaizen method (Continuous Improvement), which is based on the concept of “small steps” and ensures understanding, participation, and engagement across all levels of the company in addressing everyday challenges.

Words from CEO Alessandro Pettinari

Group CEO Alessandro Pettinari expressed his satisfaction with the results achieved in recent years, describing them as “the outcome of constant work, many sacrifices, and a great deal of passion shown by the company’s management,” and highlighting the value of “a highly experienced, professional, and competent team.”

“With the opening of these new spaces,” Pettinari continues, “we will certainly improve our policies for streamlining and optimizing production processes, which will also involve new acquisitions and synergies. Of course, we are paying close attention to global events, and there is a degree of concern for dynamics often beyond our control, but Fom Industrie is a solid and resilient company, ready to face challenges as it has done for over 50 years.”

A Company Driven by Values and Responsibility

“At the heart of our success,” Pettinari concludes, “is our great attention to the customer, the product, and attention to detail. The team is united and cohesive, sharing core values such as respect for work, people, and the environment. It is no coincidence that Fom presented its first sustainability report for the 2024 fiscal year—a concrete sign of a commitment that has always been one of our pillars, and today more than ever, represents a responsibility toward future generations.”
