Fom Industrie is looking for a Field Service Technician to join the Service Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out technical interventions at customer sites, contributing to the diagnosis and resolution of faults and restoring machines to full functionality.
The role involves close collaboration with the Service Manager / Field Service Manager, the Service team and the internal technical support team, ensuring effective interventions and maintaining high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting activities at customer sites.
• Diagnose faults and identify the causes of malfunctions.
• Restore the correct operation of machines through mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and software interventions, within the scope of their expertise.
• Provide technical support to customers throughout all stages of the intervention.
• Check the correct operation of the machine upon completion of the activities, ensuring compliance with company quality standards.
• Escalate more complex issues to the Service Manager or internal technical support team.
• Document the interventions carried out by preparing complete and accurate service reports.
• Update company systems with information regarding the interventions performed, hours worked and expenses incurred.
• Collaborate with the Hotline team, Technical Department and other company functions to ensure service continuity and the sharing of technical information.
• Represent FOM Industrie at customer sites, contributing to maintaining high levels of professionalism and service quality.
Requirements
The position is open to candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Technical diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics or equivalent field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in field technical support, maintenance or technical service roles, preferably in the automatic machinery sector.
• Good knowledge of mechanics, electromechanics and pneumatics.
• Ability to read technical drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently both nationally and internationally.
• Good IT skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience in the installation and commissioning of automatic machinery.
• Knowledge of English; knowledge of a second foreign language is considered a plus.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems.
