Fom is looking for a Process Engineer – Machining to join the Process Engineering & Industrialization Department.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of machining processes, with the aim of increasing safety, quality, efficiency and standardization of production processes.
The role involves close collaboration with Production, Supply Chain, Technical Department, Quality and Maintenance, supporting process industrialization, the introduction of new equipment and the implementation of continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and optimize machining processes, identifying opportunities for improvement in terms of safety, quality, costs and efficiency.
• Design production equipment and tooling, coordinating their development and manufacturing with external suppliers.
• Manage the installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment and production solutions.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives through the application of Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, SMED, optimization of production flows and layouts).
• Define, update and disseminate process standards, operating instructions, Visual Management systems and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with Production and Supply Chain to define production requirements and optimize department organization.
• Support the industrialization of new products, ensuring their manufacturability and integration into existing processes.
• Monitor process performance and propose improvement actions.
Requirements
The position is open to candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Management Engineering or equivalent, or technical diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial fields combined with significant experience in the role.
• At least 3 years of experience in Process Engineering, Industrialization, Continuous Improvement or Manufacturing Technology roles, preferably in the metalworking or machining sector.
• Knowledge of machining processes and the main manufacturing technologies.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies (5S, SMED, Visual Management and process standardization).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Analytical, problem-solving and work organization skills.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different company functions.
The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience in the design of production equipment.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of English.
