Fom is looking for a Mechanical Designer to join the Technical Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design of automatic machinery, functional units and assemblies, contributing to the development of new products and the improvement of existing ones.
The role involves close collaboration with the Technical Manager and the Production, Industrialization, Purchasing and Quality functions, ensuring the quality of design solutions, technical feasibility and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, units and assemblies using 3D CAD software.
• Develop technical solutions in compliance with project specifications, company standards and applicable regulations.
• Prepare and update 3D models, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials and technical documentation.
• Ensure the quality and technical accuracy of design documentation.
• Collaborate with Production and Industrialization to ensure the manufacturability, assemblability and optimization of designed solutions.
• Support the Technical Manager in product development activities.
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve design issues.
• Contribute to the standardization of components and design solutions, promoting efficiency and design reusability.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities involving products and design processes.
Requirements
The position is open to candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or technical diploma in the mechanical field.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automatic machinery sector.
• Good knowledge of mechanical technical drawings.
• Experience using 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of the main manufacturing processes, machining processes and materials.
• Technical analysis, problem-solving and work organization skills.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with different company functions.
The following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Experience in the design of automatic machinery or industrial systems.
• Knowledge of English for consulting technical documentation.
